Desde que salió la publicación de Candy Candy Final story. Se ha creado el mito que es una nueva historia. Algo que su escritora Keiko Nagita, ha declarado que no lo es.

CCFS no es una secuela, es la misma historia mejorada, con detalles nuevos que no conocíamos.

Desde el inicio Nagita ha declarado que escogió tres amores para Candy:

Anthony- su primer amor

Terry – segundo amor

Albert- su amor definitivo el amor destinado.

Gracias a la administradora de Candy y Albert el príncipe de la Colina, encontré este libro cuando me comentó que aun en 1999, Nagita continuaba declarando lo mismo desde 1975.

En Marzo 19 de 2019 Nagita volvió a declarar que le correspondía a Candy elegir entre Terry y Albert, dejando así como galán al Príncipe de la colina, Albert.

Una estimada fan de Candy Candy, me hizo el enorme favor, de traducir las páginas que hablan de los tres amores de Candy en esta entrevista.

Tomorrow could be better, you know.
As another concept, I didn’t want to write in such a way that people would say, “It’s just a shoujo manga. This is, of course, how I feel, but I wanted to avoid a timely resolution.
I don’t know if I wrote it correctly, though.
If it hadn’t been for the longevity of the series, Terry might never have appeared.

….About the contents, Anthony dies in the second volume, right? I felt that he died a little too soon.

…. Mizuki: The mystery of Anthony’s death and the fact that Albert was the Prince on the Hill was decided from the beginning. Even though it was a serialized epic romance, I couldn’t create a perfect plot because I didn’t know whether it would be popular or not.
The story might get canceled halfway through. So, I would set up a few giant pillars as a plot and then write freely in between.
But it was so popular from the first issue that my editor said I could continue writing as long as I wanted.

What are you going to do after Anthony dies? (laughs)

*13 Candy’s first love. He goes out to fox hunt and falls off of the horse and dies.

*14 When Candy was in the orphanage, she met the “Prince on the Hill” at Pony Hill. Albert loved animals and was always there for Candy. He also adopted Candy as a daughter of the Ardlay family. He was also “Great Uncle William.” All of this is revealed in the final volume.

Como podemos leer, el personaje de Terry no estaba en plot original de Keiko Nagita. Anthony y Albert lo son desde el inicio de la historia.

Muy Interesante al final de las páginas 158 y 159. Viene una pequeña reseña de quienes son los personajes.

Aquí, se nos vuelve aclarar, que Albert tomo en adopción a Candy bajo el nombre de la familia Ardlay😉.

So Terry wasn’t a character you had in mind from the beginning?

Mizuki: That’s right. Terry wasn’t supposed to appear in the initial plot.
Anthony, who was drawn by Igarashi san, looked so kind and wonderful, didn’t he?
That’s why he has a strong personality different from Anthony’s and expresses kindness differently. I wanted to create a boy with such a strong personality. The name “Terrius” is the one that you spent the most time on among the characters. I was happy when I got the idea from the “Complete Works of Shakespeare” in the library. Yes, I felt terrible for Archie that I couldn’t write about his charms after Terry’s appearance, and I wanted to write Archie differently.

… So, if the series hadn’t been so long, Terry might not have appeared. (laughs) That’s one of the exciting things about manga that the story develops as it goes along.

As Mizuki’s story comes alive, the main characters seem to move on their own. The encounter between Candy and Terry seemed to flow in that direction as if by fate. I’m embarrassed to say, however, that Candy’s character is patterned after Daddy- long leg.


*15 Terrius G Granchester first appears in volume 3, Candy and Terry are on a ship to attend the St. Paul Academy in London, and after meeting on the ship, they grow closer during their time at the academy and fall in love.

*16 The Ardley family. Archie and Anthony are cousins. At first glance, he seems light-hearted, but he has a secret passion for Candy.

The story could have taken a different turn with Terry’s arrival, but since the end was clear from the beginning, it was decided to go in that direction. I think I should have thought about it more. I think it was good. I don’t know; I still don’t know. Up until Anthony’s death, I wouldn’t say I liked it because it seemed to be based on a lot of the best stories l’ve ever read. But after Terry came out, it all felt like my own world, and it was so much easier to write.

The last part was relatively easy, and there was a lingering feeling that there was more to come. “Candy” is a nine-volume book, but it could have been much longer if it were written now.

…… Mizuki: I had declared that I would not write any extra stories or sequels.

Didn’t your editor want you to continue writing more?

… Mizuki: That’s right, .., but he said, “Yes, it’s good that it ends there. But ever since the series ended, readers have been asking me to write a sequel every now and then, and the story just sort of came to me.
… Well, this is my personal hobby. I joke that l’ll write it when I’m very old and in a nursing home if I don’t get old (laughs).


I could feel that she cared for all the characters in her works as if they were her children, even in the present.
